I have the new Ipad with the lightning connector and I have the lightning to 30 pin adaptor and could not get it to work. Is there an upgrade or something you need to do? It searches but never finds a gps status. Does it need to be configured?
Thanks for detailed response. The Nike +, does have a dock port wireless link it uses for talking to shoe sensor. The latest nano also has internal inertial sensors. Perhaps Nike worked direct with apple to codevelop or something. They also have the Nike + app on nano.
SMOP? ( simple matter of programming)
Hi Bart,
Agreed, the iPod nano + Bad Elf GPS would be a very cool platform. Unfortunately the nano does not support 3rd party apps or dock-connected accessories at this time. I have no idea if it every will. One negative is that the device has an extremely small battery, so I’m not sure if powering a GPS receiver would even be feasible.
Take care,
Brett
I agree. Having Bad Elf work on nano would be ideal.
The current Nike + solution uses inertial sensors only – sorry but yuck.
Along with the internal inertial iPod nano sensors the bad elf would just make this extraordinarily valuable combo.
Hi Chris,
Normally you’ll see this message if the vehicle or wall charger you are using doesn’t officially support the iPad’s higher charge rate of 2.1A. The iPad is more strict about this when the power is passed thru an accessory like ours. A good test to run is to use the white wall charger provided with your iPad, but the USB cable plugged thru your Bad Elf GPS. If you still see the message, then please contact us at support@bad-elf.com and we’ll get you a replacement unit!
Thanks,
-Brett
