An Amazon Milestone Weekend!

Here at Bad Elf, we are all engineers by training. That means we are hard core quants. We like to measure things, particularly when it comes to gauging market acceptance of the Bad Elf GPS. Since we started selling the device on the Amazon store, we have been very pleased with a solid monotonically increasing sales function thanks to our growing customer community. So, we are thrilled that you have purchased or considered purchasing our device and this popularity is appearing in the Amazon store metrics. This morning, we looked at where we rank in our category of Handheld GPS. For many, many weeks we've ranked as number two in Bestsellers, behind a certain wrist watch device from the 800 lb gorilla in the industry. Today we ranked #1 Bestselling Handheld GPS at Amazon!

As awesome as that ranking is for us, especially since it means we can afford to continue working to bring new ideas to market, there's one metric that we like even more. That is the fact that our customers have also made us the #1 Top Rated Handheld GPS at Amazon! We know we're not perfect and we are listening to the feedback we've received from our customers. We've recently found that Apple's latest iOS upgrade has caused a glitch for some folks and we're implementing the workaround now. This is just part of doing business in the iOS marketplace.

And while we aren't the Most Gifted or the Hot New Release, we do also show up as the #1 Most Wished For Handheld GPS at Amazon! Even though we aren't the Most Gifted (ranking only #6), we were paying attention in English when the teacher drilled into our heads the rule that we were not supposed to end a sentence with a preposition. Perhaps the folks buying gifts are not finding their friends' and relatives' (please tell me I used the apostrophes correctly) wish lists and using those to guide their purchases.  If that comes together, then maybe we will also find our way to being gifted as well.  Trust me, no one is holding his breath on that one.

It's nice to see that we've created something that has found its way to a number one ranking against some mighty strong competition.  We are inspired by these (maybe not so) little successes and very excited about the future.  There is so much on the to do list, all we need is more coffee and longer days.
