Happy New Year from Bad Elf!

First, we'd like to say a huge THANK YOU to our amazing customers, partners, and resellers for making 2013 such a great year.  We are having the time of our lives, and we are very excited about what's in store for 2014.

CES 2014

The whole team is headed to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next week.  If you're at the show, please stop by (LVCC #3611) to say hello.  Last year we won TechRadar's "Best of CES: GPS Device" for the Bad Elf GPS Pro, so we're excited to see how our new products fare this year!

New App & Firmware Available

Last week we pushed a new version of the Bad Elf GPS utility app (version 2.0.22) to the iTunes App Store.  It includes firmware updates for both the GPS Pro (version 2.0.60) and GPS for Lightning Connector (1.0.8).  We will do a blog post later this week on the new features and bug fixes.

Now (Officially) Compatible with New iPad and iPhone Models

Earlier this month we completed the necessary tests and paperwork for the GPS Pro and GPS Lightning dongle to officially claim compatibility with ALL of the new iPad and iPhone models released this year, including the iPad Air, iPad mini with Retina display, iPhone 5s, and iPhone 5c.  Hard to believe there are already 8 Apple devices with the Lightning connector:

And you can still use your 30-pin Bad Elf GPS dongle with any of these new iOS devices using Apple's 30-pin to Lightning converters.

New Product: Charge/Sync Cable for Aircraft/Vehicle Mounts

Many of our customers send us photos of the iPad or iPhone mounted in their aircraft, boat, or other vehicle -- and one thing we noticed is how quickly cable management becomes a serious problem (or at least an eyesore).  So we designed a rear-exit Lightning cable that routes the cable conveniently behind your iOS device and mount.

The cable is 1 meter long and supports the higher charge rates (2.4A) required by the iPad.  And it's available in any color you'd like, as long as that color is black! It is compatible with all Lightning devices on the market today: iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad mini with Retina display, iPad 4, iPhone 5s/5c/5, and iPod touch (5th generation).

The cable (BE-CBL-A01M) is available for purchase in the Bad Elf store, and will be in stock at our distributors within the next few weeks.  We expect to have a 2 meter version of the cable available soon.
