Cleared to Update

Our "Cleared to Update" program is designed to provide timely information to you regarding compatibility between Bad Elf's products and new operating system releases from Apple (iOS) and Google (Android).

One of the strengths of the app-based innovation on iOS and Android is the speed at which updates are made to the hardware, operating system, and apps. These updates improve design, functionality, and security. However, the pace of updates adds some complexity and risk for customers using these solutions in mission-critical environments where downtime is not an option.

Our pledge to you

It's simple:

• We'll test our products with all iOS and Android releases when available, including betas
• If we find any critical compatibility issues, we'll notify you via our social media and other channels
• We'll work closely with our app and other partners to resolve all issues quickly via app and firmware updates
• We'll support our products on legacy iOS and Android releases for as long as possible

Running mission critical apps?

If you rely on Bad Elf products for mission-critical operations, we strongly recommend that you wait at least 1-2 weeks before installing any updates to iOS, Android, your data collection or EFB apps, or our apps/firmware. This time period is usually adequate to identify any critical issues and gives vendors time to notify their customers.
